Hello from the Atlantic Provinces.

The Vancouver Gun Club in Richmond, British Columbia, hosted the 2024 Canadian Trapshooting Championships June 26-29. Ten shooters from the Atlantic Provinces attended. Congratulations to Newfoundland’s Troy Coldwell who won the Canadian Singles and Doubles Runner-up titles. Troy also won the Champion of Champions award after a carryover win against Jacob Johnson of Alberta. In the Canadian Doubles Championship, Janaya Nickerson (Nova Scotia) won Lady Champion and dad Herbie won Open B Class.

Brad Johnson of Alberta captured the 2024 Canadian Singles, Doubles, HAA, and HOA titles. Junior shooter Andrew Dong of British Columbia won the Canadian Handicap Championship with a 97. Complete shoot results are available on www.shootcanada.ca.

Janaya and Herbie Nickerson also attended the 2024 Alberta ATA Provincial Shoot at the Edmonton Gun Club, July 17-21. In the preliminary Handicap, Herbie shot a personal best of 99 and earned a 1-yard punch to 22.5 yards. Janaya’s 97 in singles, 94 in doubles and 94 in handicap were personal best in all disciplines. Good shooting!

The results of the 2024 Atlantic Provinces ATA Provincial Shoot held at the St. John’s Rod and Gun Club in Newfoundland over the Labour Day weekend will be available on www.shootatlantic.com by the time September’s Trap and Field is available. Congratulations to all winners and thanks to those that volunteered their time to make the shoot possible.
